The
Chattooga and Cullasaja Rivers have their headwaters here.
The Chattooga River, designated a National Scenic
River, begins near Whiteside Mountain and flows 500 miles
via the Savannah River to reach the Atlantic Ocean. The
Cullasaja River flows 1500 miles to the Gulf of Mexico via
the Little Tennessee, Tennessee, Ohio and Mississippi
Rivers.
Breakfast is served to guests
of Highlands Inn and
Mountain Brook Suite, from 8
am to 10 am. A hearty country-style
breakfast is included in the room rate, with
the option to order ala carte from the menu
at an additional charge.
Lunch
11:30 a.m.-2:20 p.m.
Menu offerings include appetizers,
soup, salads, sandwiches
and "Blue Plate" Special.
Wine by the glass available.
Dinner -
5:30-8:30 p.m.
Kelsey Place Restaurant offers Early Bird eating for
those who
enjoy a good, hearty southern mountain cuisine, just
like Grandma use to make.
Kelsey Place's menu is very similar to what Inn
guests
have been served for the last 127 years.
Southern Fried Chicken, Country Style Steak,
Chicken and Dumplings, Pot Pie, and Mountain
Trout are the staples of the menu. Try our
wonderful pasta specials, and if you are in the
mood for a NY Strip. We make them as well.
Wine is available by the glass and bottle.
